Need help finding german film

I need help finding a German film. It is in complete german and it's about a guy that has a medical experiment done where all he eats is peas. He goes nearly insane and has an exostentional (spelling?) crisis and kills the woman he loves for some reason I don't get.

Any help?

As far as I know, the description is about "Woyzeck", a book by Georg Büchner which has been adapted to several movies. Wikipedia lists them. The most popular one is this one with Klaus Kinski.
