My buddy has an ibook G4 that he recently restored but it still says that only 1.7GB is available out of the 40GB drive. I ran a 35 pass erase of free space and that only increased it to 2.1GB free. I am still learning about macs and how to fix computers. What do I need to do to get this thing its free space back? Thanks again ahead of time.

Start deleting music, movies, etc. Clearing free space only zeros out space already marked for writing over.

Ya all the music has been deleted and there are only a few pictures left on it and no movies. Thanks for the advice. Anything else??
