Can anyone please guide me in selecting an appropriate External Monitor to use with my 11” iPad Pro. If someone with some info and knowledge willing to help I can list down my requirement, and maybe someone can point me to a couple of Models from some Brands ! Can someone please ?

Sure, lots of people willing to help here. Things need to consider -

Size range
Price range
Resolution (1080p, 2K, 4K)
Inputs (need/want USB-C or just HDMI?)
With built-in speaker?
Curved or flat screen preference?
LCD or LED preference?
Need fast refresh rate & response time for gaming?

As usual You are ever so reliable Buddy ! 😀 With your helping attitude. Thanks for pitching in.

So Yes.

I will list down my requirement.

1. Only IPS Panel Nothing Else. So with IPS Panels they are mostly LED isn’t it ? Preferably from LG (But this is not like I am adamant about it, If the Model and Display is good can consider other Models as well)

2. Slim Bezels between 24” and 27”

3. 1080p or 1440P open for consideration of both. Can weigh the Options (Inlcuding Price & Quality and decide accordingly.

4. Will use it mostly for Media Consumption. Movies, YouTube, and Web Surfing. So has to have a great Movie watching experience.

5. Will use it as an External Monito with the 11” iPad Pro.

6. USB-C (Desirable not Mandatory as I realize not all Models have USB-C Port and so it is a bit of rare commodity and kind of Luxury) So also open for Non USB-C category

7. In Built Speakers desirable, but can be waived off or kept in consideration based on other things that I am gettting in the Monitor.

8. Not into Heavy Gaming, Just Moderate Gaming. Standard Response ate and Refesh Rate is fine. So even 60Hz refresh rate is also fine. If I get more couldn’t ask for more, will be happy.

9. Budget around $350

I just want to make sure that you know that an external monitor will show huge black bars on the sides when connected to an iPad Pro, as the screen will be mirrored and the iPad Pro's aspect ratio is not even close to 16:9.

So having slim bezels on the monitor will be made redundant the moment you connect it.

However, if it's mostly for viewing Netflix, I think they do support full screen viewing of videos on an external monitor, but just the moment you press play.

I personally am a fan of Dell's monitors as they have accurate colour reproduction. This might be a good option: Dell UltraSharp U2518D

Netflix and most all streaming and video apps will expand to full screen on a monitor or TV.

isn't LG like the market leaders in producing the best IPS panel in the Industry ? As we all know most of the Display Panels used in the iPads and iPhones are either from LG or Samsung. Yes good point that you being up is about DELL ULTRASHARP Monitors. But Do you think against LG IPS Displays DELL ULTRASHARP IPS Panels will be better ?

Thanks for the suggestions

But you know some of the 27" suggestion that you have made are only 1080P Full HD and someone on Reddit told me that never buy a only 1080P resolution Monitor in 27" category because the pixels are way too more noticeable. If you want to go 27" atleast go 1440P is what I have been told.

The rest of the 24" 1080P suggestions that you have made are good a couple of them from that I already knew and have chedked out. It is in my consideration purview.

Strangely this DELL UltraSharp series emerging out as a very strong contender almost a dark horse to the LG Realm.of making Fantastic IPS Display. But don't know how DELL IPS Displays fair up versus LG IPS Panels.

I don't think you'll find a combo of your budget, LG, & 1440p. I'd go for the 4K option at $399 -

I have this one and it’s incredible:

Dull Ultrasharp 32 inch monitor

Although I paid much less (about 4 months ago) than it’s currently going for. But the display is crisp 4K and it had a powered USB-C connection which is nice. Watching content on it has been great. And yes, movies on iPad are full screen on the display.
I know it’s bigger than you want, but I assume it’s very similar to the Dell 27 inch listed above.

I decided to go 4K and USB-C to future proof it.

Which other Brand Monitors had you shortlisted ? Did you any point of time also contemplate LG monitors ? If yes which particular model ?

And do you think you are happy with the colour gamut and reproduction you of the Dell UltraSharp Monitors ?

I am pleased with the color reproduction and do some editing on it. I only really shortlisted the LG and the HP. I eliminated the LG because the ones with USB c were really expensive. But otherwise they were great monitors. The Dell warranty is better, FWIW.

I believe this one does not have in-built speakers in it ? Right ? So how are you getting the Sound out of it ? What set up do you have for that ?

You are correct. I bought these. They work very well. I think you can get the earlier Version even cheaper. Like 20 bucks. But these have great reviews and work well. I have one computer (work) hooked up via DisplayPort, one (personal) via USB-C that I alternate with iPad and I have a ROKU hooked up to the HDMI port. Sound works for all of them. I just hooked the speakers into the audio jack and power them via USB-A port on the monitor.
