Good evening everyone,
I am appreciative of all the information and advice in this forum.
I could use some help with a particular issue I am having.
I need assistance in identifying a missing surface component on a mid-2009 era 15.4'' MacBook Pro Unibody logic board.
It is at the upper lefthand side of a quad-chip (horizontally mounted), and appears to be a small brown/tan ceramic cap, or perhaps a resistor.
Thank you kindly for any help you can provide.
If this component needs to be oriented in certain way for polarity, please let me know-- and also whether there are any off-the-shelf components that could be [crudely] rigged to the logic board from Radio Shack temporarily for testing purposes.
This logic board powered up and ran correctly until this little component was inadvertently snapped off (don't ask, long story). I had the piece for a moment and time but lost it due to carelessness with its tiny size. Both solder pads/traces are still present on the logic board. After this mishap it will accept a charge, and charge a battery, but it will not respond to the power button on the palmrest or shorting the pin on the keyboard flex connector.
Thank you again in advance!
