Hey!
I have juss shifted from the orange world to Apple world;-)... so not very good at this...

well... i was intially goin to buy a macbook pro... but ended up buyin the macbook... now i juss wanna exchange and get a macbook pro... and since my laptop is yet under the 14 days refund/exchange policy hence i was thinking of doin it.

But there is a slight problem... since i have used this laptop... there are stuff on the laptop that are personal... n i wanted to erase em be4 i give it to apple for exchange... kinda paranoid... cant help it;-)...

welll i did come upon a link for that... in a macworld article...
http://www.macworld.com/article/141358/2009/06/securely_wipe_hard_drive.html

but for some reason i am not getting the option of security options on the erase panel of disk utility... so i wanted to know wat should i do...

i can probably install the OS again... but that would end up bein a tedious and lengthy procedure... was thinking of avoiding it... and hence thought of the article above... bt apparently not workin...
so i was hopin someone out here could help! me with regard to this???

thanz alot...
enjoy;-)

You only want to securely remove some files? If that's the case, just drag them to the trash and go to Finder -> Secure Empty Trash.

It's possible that the security options button has been moved in Snow Leopard, but you do have to reboot to the computer's restore disks in order to erase the system drive anyway.

Save more time - hold command when right-clicking on the Trash can and it changes to a "secure" option.
