Hi there, so I’ve recently bought an old mac computer:
Mac OS X, Version 10.6.6

It comes with Java but it isn’t upgraded enough to do the things I want it to do. When I go to Oracle / Java .com (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573), it allows me to download the file, but when trying to install it says I do not have the correct Version of Mac to install?
This is really frustrating. I’ve spent over 6 hours trying to install bloooody java! I’m a noob to macs and would really appreciate a step to step guide on how to install the best java I can install.

Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from you soon. Feel free to add me on skype / teamviewer too, just post down here below.

Thanks,

Goonerad.

Choose Apple menu (top left on your screen) > Software Update. Update to 10.6.8 and all additional updates like Java (from Apple in 10.6 systems, not Oracle).

I've tried that, it doesn't seem to update anything? :/

Okay, so I did Software Update. It automatically restarted the computer.

What shall I do now? :)

Edit: I've just tried downloading the 10.6. Update 16, from Apple. It says: This update requires Mac Os X 10.6.8 or more.

Urghhh :( Any chance we can "teamview"?
