Need help installing new internal HD for MacBook

So I just did all the physical replacing of my MacBook HD that failed but now when I insert the CD nothing shows up on "Select Destination", but when I go to Disk Utility, the drive shows up. So what do I have to do to fix it?

Can I ask what the problem/solution was, as I intend to upgrade my Macbook drive eventually.

I think the problem was it was formated for windows so it didn't recognize the HD. You have to go into Disk Utility and then click "erase" and the use the default setting (I think it was like basic mac os x, or something close) and then your set to go!
