Need help jailbreaking verizon iphone firmware 4.2.8

Hey guys, I have the verizon iphone which i had already jailbroken using greenposion, but decided to restore it and then thought i could re jailbreak it but it turns out greenpoison hasnt released a jailbreak for firmware 4.2.8, i use a Mac so i cant use Redsnow, i see on the greenpoison website they keep speaking about pwnage tool but i have no idea how to use that or if it even works for my firmware and the last thing i want to do is brick my phone! does anyone have any suggestionns or ideas or has anyone done it themselves? Help i cant stay with a regular iphone anymore its torture!

They just released redsn0w rc18.2 for mac, which supports Verizon 4.2.8.

But it says i have to downgrade my itunes to 10.2.2 what if i have 10.3 does that mean it wont work? And this may sound stupid but is redsnow as solid of a jailbreak as greenpoison?
