I recently purchased a MBP to replace an old Dell laptop that crashed. We were able to have the geeks save our info onto an external hard drive from the old Dell but now how do I load everything back to the new MBP?

You need to get an external drive enclosure to put the old drive into so you can attach it to the mbp. The only issue you may have is if the old drive is nfts formatted the Mac wont read it unless you get some additional software for the Mac that can make it read that pc format.

If it is an external hard drive, just plug it in to the USB port of the MBP...what else would you need to do?

As noted, you can READ from NTFS without any software apps, but if you want to write, you will need something like Paragon NTFS.
