In a van down by the river
I would like to be able to connect my old Dell running Windows 8.1 to my MBP (Yosemite), so that I can move files back and forth. Under Network, Windows can see my MBP and when I double click it, it ask for the user name and password. I enter the same user name that shows on my MBP at login along with the same password to log into the Mac. Windows says can't connect because the user name or password is incorrect.

On the Mac under sharing, I have File Sharing, Remote login, and Remote Management checked.

I can connect just fine via Mac to Windows (smb via Finder) and see all the Windows folders.

Can someone possibly walk me through whatever step I seem to be missing, so that I can connect to my Mac via the Windows computer?
