Need help on Airport Extreme disk Sharing

Hi

I've plugged a WD HDD Passport on to the Airport Extreme base Station and I'm a window user.

1 )How do I know if the passport is sharing or not on windows?

2) In the device sharing settings-->Secure sharing disks: what's the difference between " with a disk password" and "with device password" ?

3) Any to do lists to set it up by steps?
