need help on an iphone order at at&T

k so i went to at&T on sunday and preorder the iphone 3g they said it will take 7 to 10 days or wathever anyway i paid with my card credit only the phone i didnt run my credit or anything just the phone and they said once it gets to the store i have to go pick it up and that were i get my credit check, i have a question tho my wife has better credit than me, if i got with her that day to pick the phone, can i let her make a contract on that phone instead of me like can she basically use the phone i order instead of having to order again??
