I just dropped my MBP core 2 duo 2.16Ghz. I still love this machines. After being dropped, all works fine except the LCD is blank. I can see the window on the lcd, but the backlight light is not on, and I tried using the external monitor, working fine. Since it's already out of warranty, the apple will charge me for 700$ for LCD and 40-50$ for inverter (in my country).
When I opened up the LCD, it made from samsung.
Couple of Questions:
1. Does any brand LCD will work as long as it has the same resolution, size?
2. I contacted the laptopz and powerbookmedic. But they don't mention anything about who manufacture the LCD. Will it be different, in terms of brightness, viewing angle, etc.
3. if the number 1 answer is yes, can you tell me the brand and partnumber and place that I can order?
