Have an old CM-S525U 5.25” enclosure that I don’t know how to open to reuse the drive. Can’t find manual or anything online since it’s pretty old from 2009.

It has a silver strip around it and is this one:

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

No tooling whatsoever visible externally?

Why do you want to retrieve the old drive?

Sorry not much help but when technology gets too old, sometimes it's best to just buy a new one. Optical drives are dirt cheap.

I went to that link, and one of the product images included a half-shot of the enclosure user manual. It kind of looks like the only screws may be used to secure the drive and the enclosure itself may just be closed with plastic tabs.

Well...

If you REALLY want the drive inside OUT, and you don't mind "losing" the enclosure you have now, get some tools (I'm thinking some screwdrivers, medium and LARGE), and carefully pry it open.

It WILL break the enclosure.
But you MIGHT get the drive out, unscathed.
