I'm using Automator to capture a screenshot of an entire webpage. I realize that there are screenshot apps available that will include Safari in the screenshot, but I'm doing this in order to a) capture an entire webpage - more than what is seen on the screen, and b) to learn more about Automator.
What I have now:
This workflow is a folder action that takes any .pdf file dropped into the Downloads folder and converts each page in the .pdf file to a separate .jpg image and saves the sequentially-numbered .jpg images to the Downloads folder.
What I think I need:
The only thing missing is to be able to convert all of the pages within the .pdf file to a single .jpg image - which I don't know how to do. I'm not sure this is possible with Automator so I'm posting this in order to get some feedback.
Assumptions:
This workflow should be saved to the following location: ~/Library/Workflows/Applications/Folder Actions (note the space in the last folder name). After that, all the user needs to do is open a webpage in Safari, go to File -> Export as PDF, choose the Downloads folder as the location, and click the Save button. The Automator workflow will do the rest. Keep in mind it takes a few seconds for the workflow to complete.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Here is a copy of the Automator workflow file compressed in a .zip file:
