Hi everyone,

Currently looking to make an upgrade from my 2014 13" Macbook 2.6 Ghz i5 intel core, 8GB RAM. I was thinking of getting a new one, but everyone seems to complain about them and always raves more about the 2015, so I'm thinking of going for that. I am mostly concerned about optimizing my music production work, since I do a lot of it. I use ableton and with it many plugins and tracks. I am thinking of getting something like this. Essentially the specs I am looking at are 2015 15" Macbook 2.8 Ghz i7 intel quad core, 16GB RAM, 1TB. Wondering what everyone thinks of these specs? Disk space aside, is there anyway to max this out more for my use case? Is having 2.8 Ghz vs 2.2 Ghz worth the money generally? Anything I should be wary of buying something like this on eBay? Thank you and happy thanksgiving!

I'd opt for the 2.2 or the 2.5 and not the 2.8 just to reduce and have some control over heat. Make sure you get the mid 2015 and not the early 2015. If you eventually want to upgrade , you can swap out the internal drive for a NVME with the sintech adaptor, purchase from Amazon.. Speeds will go as high as write 2700 and read 3100.

Won't I lose performance though if I opt for 2.2? Just to confirm the NVME with the sintech adaptor will just increase read and write speeds right? Not increase space? This would be great I would love to read audio files as fast as possible!

I've also started to consider 6 cores instead of 4.
