Sorry to bug people with this, but I heard this in the coffee shop this morning and it has been bugging me all day.

I’ve tried Midomi but no luck.

It is a male vocalist, an older, well known song.

The problem is there is almost no melody. In the background is a soft electric guitar

The famous part is when he sings something like: “And I never want to fall in love again.” But the pronoun “I” is a rather high note and he stretches it out for several seconds. It sounds a little like Gene Pitney but I don’t think it is him.

Thanks.

Is it “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak?

Rumour has it Chris Isaak appears somewhere in this video

And speaking of Gene Pitney, this is a great cover version of "Town Without Pity"
