Anything else I can do before taking the iMac in for repair to get the HD to recognize the Install Disc?

Was about to do maintenance using Onyx, which tested the volume and said the volume needed repair: Insert Install Disc and repair via Disk Utility. But every time I've tried, with the "C" button pressed, restart/start from shut down takes me right to Log-in.

The 27" iMac has a month-old/allegedly brand new Seagate HD (installed by Apple after the initial Seagate HD crapped out). I think I was told I had to do the Install Disc/Application Disc sequence again after bringing it home. But the Welcome/Bienvenido, etc. message came and went, the iMac started up no problemo, and so I figured the iMac was good to go.
