I recently upgraded my I touch to 2.0 upgrade through i tunes.

After succesfully downloading the software upgrade it downloaded this onto my I Touch and after all was done I was left with a message that my Itouch needs to be restored.

I have tried many times on different computers but cannot restore (error 1611)

I took the I Touch to the geniusbar. At first I was told they just need to restore it and will take 15 mins and they will have my 2.0 software loaded also. After about 20 mins they told me they got the same error message and told me that I have a hardware problem (although he was not sure) and suggested I need to replace my I touch since it was over a year old and out of warranty.

My issue is that I had a perfectly fine I touch (and hardly used )prior to purchasing the 2.0 upgrade and now I have this problem and My Itunes has been charged 9.99 for the upgrade.

I am ticked. Any one with suggestions. Please help.I have not had luck with apple trying to resolve this.
