Hey everyone, I've been looking at getting a cheap hard drive enclosure for one of my spare 2.5 laptop hard drives. I'm looking for around $20 CAD or less.

The drive would just be for general storage of files I don't always need access to (i.e., old school files I don't want to delete), and might connect it to a router for shared storage, but I wouldn't need anything crazy with fans and such. These are a couple I've been looking at, but I'm not sure which one is best (or if it even really matters).

ORICO 2588US3:

Inateck - There's a standard and an UASP version:

(There's two versions)

Sabrent EC-TB4P:

I have a late 2013 Macbook Air, so I'm not entirely sure if it has UASP capabilities or not.

Thanks in advance!

As a secondary question,

For UASP capabilities, does that hard drive itself have to be compatible as well, or just the enclosure and the device its connected to?

Ohh. Im from Canada so i wouldn't bother with any american sites. Id stick with amazon or local electronics stores

Could anyone else offer some insight?

I'm still kinda stuck. I don't think I'm in dire need of UASP, so for the price, I'll probably cross off the Inateck ones for the price.

I like the Sabrent because it generally seems more trusted and has more aluminum to it, but I also like the Orico because its blue and a little more sleek.

Both have their issues according to their reviews, so I'm leaning toward the Sabrent, but I still wonder if the nicer looking (in my opinion) would suit my general needs.
