I have a 2020 13" MacBook Pro. The trackpad is ridiculously grabbing anything my palm brushes on when typing. I submitted a ticket the other day under "something else not on this list" and it has none under similar reports. Is there a better category? Am I the only one?

It was alright in Monterey and the last public beta, but I've erased entire emails, sent replies, and who knows what I didn't catch because of this. And I'm consciously trying to keep my palms raised.

I'm also going to submit a ticket for the emoji picker. If anyone knows what that would be under, any help would be appreciated. But I haven't looked for that one yet.

have you tried changing options in system settings>trackpad? just to see if that helps.

if it's a physical issue with the trackpad, you might want to call apple (or get to a store). but try fiddling with those settings first...

I don't see anything in there to adjust the sensitivity to palm taps.

Interesting enough, I'm not having that problem right now. I can't remember if another public beta has come out between my OP and now but I may have done a restart. Maybe that sorted it out?

Just a little update to this...

I was having an issue with the Emoji & Symbols picker (check this thread) and turned off Tap to click to try it out.

Now I'm not having an issue at all with the cursor moving around when I'm typing. It looks like I can even stop typing, rub my palm over the trackpad, and it won't move the cursor.

It seems the issue is with Tap to click. I'm going to keep it off for now but that'll take some getting used to. I've been using it since maybe 2006?
