Need some advice for putting a SSD into my 2009 iMac. I'm not sure which iMac I have. My UPC code says "iMac 27"/3.06/2x2gb/1TB/4670-256MB/SDWLMKB
Model number MB952LL/A

Please bear with me on this. I am really new to this.

My stock internal 1TB crashed and I was wanting a tutorial for doing the swap for my model. I have done plenty of searches on this forum and see plenty of threads about this but I keep getting confused on all the different models and what is needed for each one. Please direct me toward the best SSD drive for my application and what is needed for my swap. I know many have had issues with the fan speed. I really appreciate any and all help!

Thanks!!

Thanks for the guide!

Which drive do you guys recommend? I am thinking about a SSD drive, but i don't know much about them what it would take to convert it to work. Fans, etc.

No need to convert anything.
Just format it correctly:

Maybe this can also help regarding the copying process:
And here is a good SSD guide:

So I don't have to short out the temp wire? I thought I had read somewhere that I would have to do this with a SSD drive.
