I recently got my MacBook and can't seem to be able to tether over Bluetooth to my iPhone 4. I'm on Rogers, so yes, I'm allowed to tether, and it works fine over USB. I figured that it would be super easy over bluetooth as usual, but I guess not. I've tried following guides to the letter and it doesn't work.

My phone and laptop are paired. It shows this on my laptop menu bar on top and my phone's status bar. but i dont get the pulsating blue bar on my iPhone. I've tried removing and re-pairing multiple times.

The only thing that i can see wrong is this:

iPhone 4

Rogers Locked
4.1 jailbroken with limera1n at BB 01.59
I have MyWi 4 (if that makes a difference)

MacBook Pro 13" 2.7Ghz stock Winter 2011

Thanks!

I'm curious:

1. If it works over USB, is their a reason why you prefer to tether over BlueTooth?

2. Why did you (why does anyone when posting a screenshot) grey out your name under devices? Can we not know that this is John's iPhone?

1) Don't want to physically tether
2) Might not have cable handy
3) Uses battery of MacBook and I believe more battery of the iPhone as well
4) It is so much more convenient
5) A bajillion other reasons

Ummm.... I would rather not have you know my first name...? Even though I'm sure it can easily be found online.
