In bldg #1 I have a Hughesnet Satellite 9000 modem hooked straight to a 1TB TC with an external HD hooked up via USB it all works fine both wirelessly and using LAN ports on back of TC. I have a mac mini, a macbook, and a vista machine - all can connect to internet and all can see external HD, and TC.

Now the problem - I need to add more LAN connections in another building (bldg #2) 100ft from where the Hughesnet modem is and move the mac mini and PC into bldg#2 and I need to keep wireless capability in bldg #1 for the macbook. So, I ran a cat5e cable to bldg#2, bought a simple linksys 5 port switch and an OnQ 4 port switch. I moved the mac mini and pc into b#2 and if I use the OnQ switch I can get internet on the mac mini, but can't see the TC or the external HD. On the PC there's nothing - no internet or TC/external HD. If I go to the linksys switch I can't get anything on either machine. I've been on tech support with linksys - nada.

If I plug straight into the cat5 from the TC it's just like it used to be and all works well. So the issue has to be something to do with these switches and how TC deals with them it would seem.

I'm stumped - any assist is appreciated.
