Need Help :'( to update 10.5.8 to 10.6.3

Hey guys
I need your help plz I DO NOT know how to use a mac which is so annoying
I'd like to know how to update 10.5.8 to 10.6.3 or the latest I tried to use "software update" on my mac but it didn't shows me anything!
I'm using a macbook Pro

You cannot just upgrade your Mac from Mac OS X 10.5.8 to Mac OS X 10.6.3 using Software Update...

Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade, meaning you have to purchase the disk and install it.

You have to buy Snow Leopard. It's not a free update.

finally bought snow leopard 10.6.3 and every time i install the disk, i get 'must have 10.6; however, I'm on 10.5.8!!

Tried updating 10.5.8 (no new updates)...guy at mac store said i can upgrade with this cd straight from 10.5.8

any help is great and much appreciated!

white box with green sticker 'new version 10.6.3'... bought it from the virgin store here in dubai
