Hi
I am trying to get a new macbook pro moving to 15'' range:) I am down to 2 choices now, so just need the extra help.
use= I use final cut pro a lot and photoshop and regular web browsing

Choice 1 is refurb from apple stie around 1529
Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.0GHz quad-core Intel i7
Originally released February 2011
15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, 1440-by-900 resolution
4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
500GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6490M

choice 2 15'' Hi res anti glare 2010
Apple Macbook Pro 2.53ghz Intel Core i5 Processor HIGH RESOLUTION ANTIGLARE MAXXED OUT with
8gb Ram, 500gb 7200rpm HDD
In pristine condition with Wrapsol invisible skin, Incase FROST hardshell, Moshi Keyboard Protector, Moshi Palmguard

If you care about render speed a lot then get quad core.

Maybe with higher resolution + antiglare.

the first one is more up to date with a better processor and video card.

it would help to know what you would do on the computer like basic **** like internet or are u gonna do graphic editing or anything? playing games? etc

either would work really

I honestly wouldn't even consider purchasing a MBP with out the High Resolution screen. They should make it standard like with the 17"

Hmm...I would def go with option 1 if it had hi-res but 1440 x 900 on 15" would not work for me . I suggest you wait for better options on refurb site

i dont see anything wrong with a standard resolution.. its still crisp and clear. only reason to get high res is for pics and videos to edit since it makes more space.

my need is rather urgent so I can not wait that long.

get the up to date one. if ur still unsure, apple store and compare the two.

Definitely get option #1 for faster rendering ability, and I'd suggest upgrading the RAM to 8GB. I'm sure 4GB will be okay for you right now, but adding another extra 4GB will make your FCP editing and rendering way easier.

Editing videos on a 15" Macbook Pro won't be as fun as editing them with a 27" iMac. LOL.
