Hi All

Just as I decide to sell my MBP ( 2.4 2007 model ) - the battery has decided to give me grief!!

I replaced the original recently with a second hand original Apple battery with very low cycle count.

The laptop has been left standing for about two weeks and battery has run down, but now when I start it on the power block, it says the battery isn't charging.

What could cause this on a good battery, and any remedies ( zap pram, smc reset etc? ).

Is it the battery or something more serious? The motherboard has been changed recently under warrenty, by an authorised Apple shop.

Any ideas?

cheers all :)

I wouldn't assume the battery is good. An old battery with a low cycle count suggests it may have been sitting discharged for some or much of its life. That can be worse on a battery than being cycled regularly.

99% chance that the battery is bad.

Otherwise it could be the power adapter, magsafe connection, or the logic board inside the machine.
