I vaguely remember a quote from a movie, but a cannot for the life of me remember what the movie is.
It is a long shot, but I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone knows.
The quote (and I'm probably paraphrasing) goes something like this:
"If you drop a lobster/crab into boiling water it'll jump straight out, but if you drop it into cold water then slowly turn up the heat it'll just sit there and boil to death."
