I'm trying to set up our two laptops so that the backup drives connected to the USB port on their monitors only mount and unmount in connection with a Superduper backup. The problem I have now is that both my girlfriend and I connect and disconnect our computers from the monitors over the course of the day and so the drives will mount when we plug in the USB cables. We want to be able to not have to eject/unmount the drives when we disconnect the USB to the monitor.

We're using superduper which automatically mount the volumes before backup and unmount them after backup. We basically want the drives to be unmounted even when we connect them to the computers, so that the only time they are mounted is when Superduper mounts them.

Any way to do this?

Thanks!
