Hey guys,

Apparently if you want to install Windows XP on your Boot Camp Partition, you need Windows XP with Service Pack 2 already installed!

I've got Windows XP Pro, but it doesnt have SP2 - So could I just install it and then update the SP2

It won't mess up my MBP, if i do it - Will it?

Need advice, thanks!

It won't be possible to install Windows unless SP2 is part of the install disk.

You might be able to slipstream the two together. Others here have reported that that works.

Nah, mine is older - came with my Dell PC

I know your gonna say noooo I shouldn't use the disc that came with my Dell PC

If it came with your Dell then it will not work whether SP2 or not. That disk is setup as a restore CD for that dell system. This is much like how you can not use a MacBooks restore disk on an iMac.

Get a copy of a newer xp install disc from your friend or from the internet. Since you own a license, you won't be doing anything wrong.
