Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy refurbished macbook pro. I have finalized two,
1.
Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
and
2. Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

My question is if they both come with 512MB VRAM? The product details for each of them specifically has a mention of 512MB but I saw some general technical description page for mid-2009 MBPs where there is a mention of 512MB vram being available only for 2.8x and 3.0x models. Is that true?

Thanks

those must be referring to the new models. but im 100% sure the refurb 2.66 and 2.93 will have 512VRAM.

If these are the same sized laptops, is the jump from 2.66 to 2.93 a huge jump? You might save some $$$ :)

What's the difference in price? The only difference between the two is the processor. It's up to you if it's worth it.

Thanks guys (special thanks to Bill gates for blessing this thread with his appearance :)

Yeah, I agree it's a huge price difference just for the processor ($300). But i am planning to keep this laptop for a long time (2+ years). Besides my work involves having 30+ windows open all the time.

You'll be better saving the $300 and putting that towards a RAM upgrade.

if you are going to open 30 windows each time you work, you should spend your money on extra ram. get an ACD too, since with 30 windows opened screen real estate is very important

Actually that is true, I can very buy macbook with 2GB ram and then upgrade it to 8GB (off ebay or so)
And I was not sure what ACD is? Are you referring to an external monitor?
Thanks.
