Need help with DC in Powerbook G4 12in

Just put in a new DC in board and bought a generic ac adapter. Got everything put together and when I plug the new charger in the icon blinks from charging to calculating. You can see the screen dim when it blinks. When I check the power under the system profiler it shows a charger plugged in but not charging.

It sounds like the new charger is underpowered or has a fault.

Does it blink regularly? Does it ever stop blinking?

More than likely it is the power adapter. Third party power adapters suck for the g4 machines. I would take it by an apple store, or find a known good power adapter to figure out the issue.
