PB running OS X 10.4 Tiger

I am trying to use gimpshop but in order to run it it says x11 needs to be used. I found where to download x11 of apples site but when i try to install it, installer says there is a newer version already installed.

I'm confused with what to do and if there is a newer version of x11 already installed, than why cant i run gimpshop?

Thanks

I think you'll need to open X11 first and then drag gimpshop to its icon in the dock IIRC

nope, not there. tried spotlight too.
OK so spotlight can't find it but Apple's download site says you've already got it?

Is X11 part of Tiger? Is the download site seeing Tiger and assuming X11 is present? Did you opt out of installing X11 when you upgraded to Tiger?

Why not try using SeaShore, the aqua version of GIMP.

If you still require X11, there's an app out there which will allow yuo to search the OS X discs to find the X11 package, and then install it from there.
