I recently got a MacBook Air. This is my first notebook with the Apple trackpad -- well, it's my first Apple notebook, period.

Anyway, I have motor coordination problems due to cerebral palsy, and I can't seem to get a hang of dragging with the trackpad. I know I'm supposed to double-tap and hold, but I just can't get the timing right.

What I'd like is to be able to invoke drag lock from the keyboard. Like, if I press a certain key combination, or key+mouse gesture, it invokes drag lock, and then I can drag at my leisure, without having to keep constant pressure on the trackpad, then when I want to release, I do it through single tap. Or perhaps by pressing the same key combination again.

I've already tried some trackpad tweak utilities, but none of them had the option to reassign the drag lock to some other gesture I find easier to do.

I started looking at some hotkey utilities, but so far haven't had much luck -- none of the descriptions on websites tells me whether ot not a particular utility will do what I want it to do.

If anyone can help me solve this issue, I'd be very grateful. It's rather disappointing to have to carry a mouse to use the Air. :(
