Ok so I pretty new to Mac, and only know the basics. What im trying to do is just put my media files in a documents folder I guess that doesn't have to be on my desktop , kinda like my documents on windows.

all I see in the left side of the finder window is icloud drive and documents which store on my actual iCloud and fill it up and I don't want that. I have a 500GB MacBook, I have no reason to store my files on iCloud with my Mac.

so how do I find or create a folder to store my info on my Macs ssd instead of iCloud?

Try this:

1. Open the documents folder in the finder
2. Go to the file menu and choose "new folder"
3. An unnamed folder should appear in the documents folder
4. Give the new folder any name you want (such as "media files")
5. Now put what you want into it.

For quick access to this folder, you could make an alias of it, and put the alias on the desktop...

If you don’t want what you put in the “Documents” folder to be stored in iCloud, then do this:

- Click the Apple menu icon (top left of screen)

- Click System Preferences

- Click iCloud

- On this screen you should see “iCloud Drive” at the top of the list with an “Options” button to the right, click that.

- On this screen you should see “Desktop & Documents Folders” on the top of the list. Uncheck the checkbox.

By doing this, anything you put in the “Documents” folder in Finder as well as folders and files you put on your desktop will NOT be stored in your iCloud account and ONLY to your SSD.

Hope this helps!
