Need help with garage band.

When I open garage band and try to use instruments, however it says that I do not have them downloaded. When I hit download now, software updates and says no files are required... Any tips?

Oh and btw I just got my imac today, so this is the first time ive opened garage band on this computer

Have you deleted anything? If not stick the Mac OS X CD in the drive and click on the install bundled applications installer.
