Need help with iTunes on 2014 MacBook Air

For several months any iTunes purchased movie that I've attempted to stream on my MacBook Air results in freezing after about 9 minutes. If I attempt to skip forward in chapters it immediately freezes. These movies stream perfect on my Apple TV 4 and my iPhone. I have purchased 291 movies through iTunes and never had a problem until several months ago. I've had this MacBook Air for almost 2 years and the problem started before the release of El Capitan. At first it only affected movie I tried to skip ahead chapters. I should note that Netflix and other streaming services work perfectly. Also, I started to attempt to get help through AppleCare and after several reboots and resets failed they had me do a fresh install of El Capitan, but the problem has persisted. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
