Hey guys, I recently did a jailbreak on ios 9.3.3 and due to some issues i had to delete the original pp app and downloaded it again but now my cyida does not open and says var/lib/dpkg/status etc to fix it i erased all my contents but it didn't so please help me,i really wanna make my cydia work again

you need a computer with iTunes and you need to download the firmware at www.ipsw.me and before you press the restore button on iTunes, hold option key (or ALT on Windows, I think) and then, choose the file you just downloaded. Your phone will restore and install a fresh version of 9.3.3

Note that if your back up was messed up with the previous JB, you need to set your devise as new for best results.

I seem to be posting this every single day.
You do not do an erase all content and settings on a jailbroken device.
You need to restore and JB again.
And never ever ever do an erase all on a jb device.
The "easiness" of the current jailbreak seems to have attracted a lot of people who have never jailbroken before and are therefore unaware of some of the standards.

You are repeating yourself on this here, I am repeating myself in other places. The current one for me has been the misconception that holding volume up while the phone is booting works for this jailbreak.

It doesn't, it only works when you rejailbreak (run the Pangu app), but for some reason people seem to think it does.

Eventually, however, the JB window will close and people will end up self-educating themselves the hard way.

I never understood why the jailbreaking bods never thought to put in a block on the tab being used. Maybe it is not possible but it would free up a lot of space in this part of the forum.

Looking forward to that self education part:)

I hear you.
I think there is a few hacks available that disable it. But the ones that know to install those hacks know enough not to press the erase all content button:D
They should make it a default as soon as the device is jb for that option to be disabled.

Exactly, if you know to install the tweak then you know to not tap 'erase all....' so no point in the tweak in the first place.

Before I jailbroke my phone last year I read up here so much that I had it down to a T and didn't do anything stupid.

I'm not saying that I know everything about jailbreaking, far from it but I'm learning the hole time. One of the places I learned the most was here but not necessarily by asking questions but by reading up on it.

There are so many thread in this section about problems after/during jailbreaking you would think people would learn but it seems that most f..kup and then as here.
