Im trying [really hard] to download Java on my OSX. Not programming or w/e, i dont now what all that means :( i just want to download something and make java applications show up correctly. fairly new to mac and on a very new computer, very little tinkering. please help me! is there a simple way to do this? in the windows days there was just a big green button that said "Download". *sigh*

Mac OS X comes with a version of Java 1.4. Java 5 has since been made available via Software Update. If you need Java 6 I'm afraid you're out of luck for the time being :(
