For some reason my Macbook Air isn't playing music with head phones or external speakers. The problem is clearly in the headphone port yet I do not know what is going on. I have looked inside the port with a flashlight and have seen no obstruction and i have also straightened out a hair pin and gently felt around for some lint or blockages but found nothing. The plugs from headphones or external speakers will go in but, only 3/4ths of the way in, and it feels like something is blocking it. I don't want to try and jam it in. This causes the music to play through one speaker only instead of both with subtle distortions. Any ideas what is wrong or how i can fix this?
