Hi folks,

First off I'm not tech savy at all. I have an older (2008) I believe mbp. I purchased a new dj controller and decided I should upgrade to lasted OS and ended up with 10.10. Unfortunately it is not yet supported for the device I have. So how can I go back to 10.8 or 10.9 without doing any damage or losing anything? :( Thank you in advance for any feedback!

You should've checked compatibility beforehand. But I guess that's lesson learned for you.

Unfortunately, a downgrade would mean having to wipe the drive and reinstalling whichever version you want. You're likely to need a "manual" backup by copy pasting important documents and apps to an external drive as backup solutions like Time Machine cannot restore to an earlier version of an OS.
