Need Help with Mail

I recently bought a 15" core i5 MBP.
and configured mail to it.
The previous 1550 messages dont download and nor do new messages:mad::mad:
even though i have set it to download all messages and attachments offline.
Please advice.

Please excuse my english since i am Indian.
