Need help with new headsets

Hi guys,

Plus this adapter to make it work with the iMac 2012: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-5006-Steelseries-mobile-adapter/dp/B002ZNJH36/ref=pd_sim_e_10

The issue is that with the iPhone it work perfect, but when I connect it to the iMac it doesn't recognize the Mic What can I do to make it work?

Can't you just skip the adapter and plug the headphones directly into the headphone and microphone jacks? They're all 3.5mm. I also see that company has drivers for Windows but not Mac on their website.

If it needs a driver to work on a PC and they don't make Mac drivers it probably won't work. But I'd plug it directly in without the adapter and see.

That adapter doent need drivers, the drivers they have on the website are for another adapter which is USB but for this one is just plug and play.

My iMac only has one port on the back so I have no way to connect it without the adapter

and I need the mic because I play LoL with my friends

I know it says it is for mobile but the iPhone and the iMac both have the same connector so I see no reason why it doesnt work


is there another adapter I could use?

Ah, I see that now, I wonder why Apple took the Microphone input away. I don't know about another adapter. I suppose the iPhone/iPod are built so that jack can run both ways, output (headphone) and input (microphone), but the headphone jack on the iMac might only be capable of output. I wish I had an answer.

Yeah that could be the issue

I gonna try to go to the apple store later tonight and see what they have to say about this. Hopefully they have a solution
