need help with Tmobile voicemail notiications with Iphone4

Hi guys. I currently have an official unlocked Iphone4 using Tmobile. For some reason the visual voice mail keeps poping up, but when i shut off cellular data it goes away. I need cellular data for when im on the road and not connected to wifi. The normal voice mail notification pops up, but then reverts back to the visual voice mail screen. I am not getting the notification red note at all, so people are calling me and I have no idea messages are being left. help help
