One of my customers called me today and bought a new printer after their old one died.

We are a 100 percent Windows company so I try to answer Mac questions as best as possible but this one I want to be sure of.

Her iMac, the one with the monitor on a stand and the round base has 10.3.9 on it and 768 megs of ram. They strictly use it for running Word, email and internet, nothing else.

The printer requires 10.4.x in order to run.

So I understand I need to buy an upgrade to 10.4 but am I better off buying a Leopard upgrade?

Will that system run OK on Leopard?

Are there any pitfalls to going from 10.3.x to Leopard?

Thanks

I'm just totally unfamiliar with the product...they were thinking of moving the Mac home and having us put a PC in the office.

That might be the cheaper way to go. Hate to see someone throw $200 at a system to get a $80 printer working.

Here is Leopard for 80$. Here is Tiger for 30$.
