need mac pro 3,1 video card suggestions

hi guys,

I just tried to run fcpx and it's telling me my card is not supported.. what options do i have ? my current card is the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB. Im looking to upgrade to something with a mini display port so i can run a apple cinema display finally...

MacVidCards is hands down the best place to get you an upgrade. I bought a used 7970 for $150 off of a PC/Gamer Friend and left the 2600 in there for boot. When I can afford him, MacvideoCards will MOD my 7970 so I can dump the 2600 The nVidea GTX 970 is the best bang for buck on that side of the fence. MacVid Cards has those babies too.

You can mod the 7970 by yourself. There is a thread about how to flash the R9 280X, which is effectively the same card as the 7970.
