ok, so a while ago i tried to change my login wallpaper and failed. I renamed the DefaultDesktop.jpg file, repaired permissions about a dozen times, even used those apps that do it for you, but nothing. Now im stuck with no login wallpaper, just a solid color login "wallpaper".

Is there a way to restore that file/folder from the OS X install disk so that I may have a login wallpaper again?

Copy and paste this into the Terminal. I think that SHOULD do it:

sudo cp /Library/"Desktop Pictures"/Nature/Aurora.jpg /System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg
