Hi everyone. I am going to be purchasing the new 15" MBP in a few weeks and I am looking for a new monitor to go with it! I am hoping I can get some advice and recommendations from you experts out there.

Currently I have two Samsung 28" 4k Monitors. I am not comfortable with using dual screens, I have tried multiple placement configurations but it's just not something I enjoy using. Also, 4k is a bit tiny at this screen size.

I am looking to increase my monitor size and remain at 4k. Features I am looking for:

  • Trying to stick very close to $1000 CAD for top end budget
  • Reasonable color accuracy for graphic and video work
  • High resolution, (preferably 4k)
  • Greater than 30"
  • Suitable for casual gaming
I have found two monitors that perhaps fit the bill. Which monitor is better do you think and why? Also, if you have any alternatives -- please suggest!

LG 43UD79-B 42.5"

ViewSonic 43" 4K

I am tending to go with the ViewSonic - but there are very few reviews online about it. What do you guys think? Also, can you speak to quality of both brands?

Thanks!
