seems like there are quite a few apps both apple and 3rd party that don't rotate and optimize automatically. google hangouts and groupme are just 2 of many that i have found. a lot of apps have been updated and claim to be good for iOS 8 and the new phone sizes but they still don't rotate. also, my predictive test seens to have disappeared even though it is still enabled in keyboard settings. what gives?

That being said, I'd give it time (around 3 - 6 months) but I would also lower your expectations on the amount of apps that will actually utilize the iPad orientation like the 6+ has with messages, calendar, etc. I think most devs will simply update the scaling of their apps to fit the 6+ screen correctly and call it a day.
