My apologies... I mentioned Crucial, but I had not read your entire post. Unfortunately, I cannot see where I can delete the post. 
You said don't mention crucial, but they are IMO the best company to deal with and they have great RAM. Having said that, I know they are expensive and for the first time in 4 years I'm using RAM other than curcial. Try datamem.com. They are well priced and have pretty good RAM. They also say their RAM works for Macs.
